L'art, history and wine Number of painters and artists find inspiration on the banks of the Rhone. Royal Seyssel wanted to celebrate the marriage between art, and wine, creating a Cuvée des Artistes. As an annual competition, organized with the association "Z'arts the Bridge" and "Heritage Association of Country Seyssel", Cuvée des Artistes is an opportunity for value creation and promote the history of Seyssel, through characters or highlights.
3 works 3 A jury of labels 9 people whose Mercotte, famous food columnist, reward 3 the best creations devised for this contest. These three works will be reproduced on the labels of wines Seyssel and unveiled to the public 21 April 2013 ! Will be illustrated : the history of the freedom charter Amédée V, diplomatic actions Amédée VIII impressed throughout Europe and finally Anne de Lusignan and its origin in the grape "Highness".
Royal Seyssel : from 1856 This is 1856 it all started with a wine produced in a Traditional Method. Very popular with European sovereigns which Queen Victoria, He is crowned with the name of its territory : « Royal Seyssel ».
AOC Seyssel : one of the oldest in France The story continues, marked 1930 the creation of "Caves of Seyssel" and 1942 by obtaining an AOC. The AOC Seyssel is the oldest of Savoy and one of the oldest in France.
In 2007, following the closure of the production, Royal Seyssel seems destined to disappear. Gérard Lambert, decides to challenge : Seysselan d'origine, 5e generation of a family of winemakers, he could not solve the disappearance of the local heritage and valuable.
The revival of "Royal Seyssel" according to the traditional method, Gerard Lambert vinifies and its wines to allow this wine, to regain the place it once occupied. It is made from grapes that are found mainly in the Country Seyssel : the highness and the wheel. Two varieties that bloom at an altitude of about 300 m above the Rhone.
Gerard Lambert work quality. For him, wine should take his time… Thereby, the fermentation is carried out on 36 months instead of 9 Regulatory month. During this period, wine softens, the bubbles and refined aromas express ! A new very fresh ... The 24 February, le royal Seyssel 2009 is awarded at agricultural show 2013, a beautiful silver medal. A new appreciation for this wine already ranked among the best sparkling world in the international competition 2012 !
